EDCSA was created to help address this gap.
Through structured record keeping and our Development Database, we aim to document dogs and their known lineage so that valuable bloodline information is not simply lost from one generation to the next.
Not every Dachshund has an official pedigree. That does not necessarily mean that its lineage has no value.
EDCSA’s Development Database provides a way to record Dachshunds that do not have established pedigree documentation, while clearly distinguishing these records from formally documented pedigrees.
By recording available information about these dogs and their ancestry, breeders can begin building a more complete picture of bloodlines within the South African Dachshund community.
